I have long held that landscape is individualised, and develops local identity, by details. It is attention to detail that lets you read a landscape. In that regard, a mystery brought to my attention by a citizen of Stepney has now reached an international level of intrigue. Blue setts (sort of paviours or even cobbles) used to make an old road in Stepney Green....
....also occur in Puerto Rico
Of course, both Puerto Rico and London have an international flavour to their (landscape) character...
